Manfred Welling

Manfred Welling is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Manfred Welling’s big idea was to print the world in stripes. He spent years driving highways at night, using a camera rigged to a slit in his van to capture the road’s blur—one continuous band of light and asphalt. Songlines (2011) condenses those miles into a single print, a neon zip through the desert, where the landscape disappears into motion.
