Artist

Brian Cook

Brian Cook is an Arts and Crafts movement artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Brian Cook worked like a stage designer who never left his kitchen table, sketching the perfect English manor at breakfast and rearranging the furniture by lunch. His watercolors are crisp floor plans turned into cozy dreams you can almost smell—oak panels, coal fires, a teacup left just out of frame. Hunt down Design for The English Country House (1935) and you’ll see why every biscuit tin on the 1930s shelf wanted to be a house.
