Thomas Shepherd

Thomas Shepherd is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

London artist Thomas Shepherd drew the city’s changing face in the 1800s. One sheet in the bundle shows Chelsea Hospital as it stood then—brick walls, arched windows, and the Thames just beyond. His pencil lines catch rooftops and alleys before later expansion swallowed the view. If you like the straight-on clarity of 19th-century London topography, tap next to compare his Chelsea view with his drawing of the New River Head.
