Yorgos Pallis
b. 1969
Yorgos Pallis is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki – MOMus.
Yorgos Pallis spent years hauling boxes in Athens’ flea markets, always stopping to flip through stacks of old prints and faded posters. One lunch break he bought a 1950s hotel menu that sparked something in him, and he started turning those faded colors and clipped Greek phrases into his own prints. If you’ve ever walked down Athinas Street at dusk and noticed the way black-and-white posters start to glow under a single streetlamp, look for his unsigned prints in that glow; the 2008 untitled piece is a small square that does exactly that.
