E. Follet

E. Follet is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Ethel Follett spent her mornings printing and her afternoons walking the docks of East London, sketchbook in hand, watching cranes and cargo. She made her name carving what she saw into woodcuts so sharp they looked like they’d been printed from the real thing. You’ll find her in the print room at the V&A if you look for her *H Beard* series—those bold black-and-white blocks capture the grit of the Thames better than any photograph. Tap through to any one of them and you’ll see why sailors used to buy copies to pin up in their mess halls.
