Artist

Andrea Brustolon

Andrea Brustolon is a Baroque artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This Venetian woodcarver shaped gilded altarpieces for churches, blending Baroque drama with 1700s flair. His Assumption of the Virgin with saints and angels towered over altars around 1720–1725, carved angels twisting upward like flames. The figures’ flowing robes and heavenly glow show the era’s love for movement and gold leaf. Tap to see how the gilded rays frame each saint’s face in the light.
