Ignatius Kauffmann

Ignatius Kauffmann is a Rococo painting artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Bavarian State Painting Collections.

Ignatius Kauffmann painted portraits in a crisp, late-Baroque style that stayed in vogue through the mid-1700s. The only work in this set, "Portrait of a Young Gentleman" from 1754, shows a man in a dark coat against a simple background, lit just enough to catch the lace at his cuffs. Tap the painting to zoom in on every brushstroke and the tiny signature tucked in the lower left corner.
