Gerda Quist
Gerda Quist is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This Danish artist snapped photos in the 1950s with a Rolleiflex, the square-crop camera that fit in her coat pocket. She shot cobblestone alleys and iron bed frames in Copenhagen, letting the light do most of the talking. Look up *Untitled (Photograph)*—it’s a 1953 frame where a laundry line’s shadow splits a brick wall almost exactly in half. That tiny moment is why her pictures still feel fresh.
