English printmaker who engraved sporting scenes in the 1820s, carving foxes, horses and riders for hand-colored aquatints. His “H Beard Print Collection” (1824) captures the raw energy of a hunt day at Melton Mowbray, riders in scarlet coats leaping over hedges, hounds streaking across plowed fields, every line crisp enough to feel the mud fly.
