Walter Seymour

Walter Seymour is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Walter Seymour probably spent more time in the docks than the studio. Born in London’s working-class East End, he sketched sailors and fishing boats on scraps of paper while they gossiped about storms and wages. His untitled late-19th-century drawings feel like postcards from the harbor: smudged ink, creased edges, salt stains on the corners. Look for the one where a trawler’s hull tilts under a torn sky—it’s a tiny slice of history you can hold in your palm.
