Rupert Potter

Rupert Potter is an Impressionism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Rupert Potter left behind two kinds of pictures: soft watercolors of family posed against floral borders and sharp photographs of the English countryside. In 1898 he painted his wife and daughter with delicate yellow and purple flowers framing the scene. Two years earlier, near the family’s summer home at Eeswyke, he set up the camera and captured a still afternoon view. Both types of work show quiet moments, one with a brush, the other with a lens. Tap the 1896 photograph of Eeswyke to step into that view.
