In 1938 he etched *Îndrăgostiții* (The Lovers), a tender print of two figures pressed close. The next year he joined the series *Tinerii* (The Youth) with drawings like *Muncitoare* (Woman Worker) and *Obosit* (Tired), plus a small sculpture of a slumped figure. Each piece shows people in quiet, everyday moments rather than grand gestures.
