Yanneta Aspasia

Yanneta Aspasia is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Athens School of Fine Arts.

Yanneta Aspasia kept a studio in a former fish-packing shed on the docks in Piraeus, where the smell of salt and diesel mixed with turpentine. She made prints by hand, often using plates she’d etched while watching the ferries come in at dawn. You’ll find that same salt-stiff light in *Sea Scape* (1993), a single print that looks like the Aegean caught mid-breath. Slide up to it in Gallery Tiles and you’ll see how a scrap of zinc and a bitten-off cigarette ash became a window.
