Eddie Chambers
Eddie Chambers is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Eddie Chambers made screen-printed posters that put bold text and striking portraits on public walls. In 1987 he turned Marcus Garvey into an eight-color poster that looked like a rally poster you could hang in your kitchen. The image uses a photographic screen of Garvey’s face above the phrase “Marcus Garvey speaks again!”—a direct nod to the 1920s Universal Negro Improvement Association style. Tap Marcus Garvey to see the full print and the crisp halftone dots that keep the era alive.
