Charles Jones

Charles Jones is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

A late-1800s photographer whose surviving prints are crisp windows into everyday life, Charles Jones left us two small albums of glass-plate pictures. One shows a dark oak door at Ote Hall, its wrought-iron studs catching the light; the other is a close-up of a dog whose fur reads like polished mahogany. Tap Ote Hall’s ironwork to zoom in on the grain—then step back to see how the same careful focus softens the animal’s eyes.
