Romanian painter of the early 19th century, Asachi Alexandru is best known for his scenes of everyday life and landscapes along the Bistrița River. His painting “Plute pe Bistrița” shows wooden rafts drifting past steep banks, while his print “Peisaj în munți” captures jagged mountain ridges.
