Lala Deen Dayal

Lala Deen Dayal is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Lala Deen Dayal made early photographs in the late 1800s when cameras were still new. He left us a picture of a royal procession and another of a palace courtyard, both shot on glass plates that needed long exposures. That was how photographers worked before fast film. Look for Untitled — the one with the horses and riders — to see how the camera first froze those moments.
