Artist
Ditchfield

Ditchfield is an Impressionism artist. 4 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
British watercolour artist from the 1800s, Ditchfield put brush to paper to capture sunlit views along the French and Italian coasts. In 1882 he painted the sun-dappled shore at Saint-Raphaël; a decade earlier he wandered the rocky gorges of Solerno, deer silhouetted beside a stream. His 1884 sheets of Sicily’s Taormina cliffs and the gorge at La Cava show soft washes and sharp dabs of pigment. Flip to the sheet titled Rocky Dingle with Stream and Deer to step into his quiet, green world.
