Artist
Mauron
Mauron is a Baroque artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Mauron kept a tidy desk but left his prints scattered like gossip sheets. A Paris printmaker in the 1740s, he turned flea-market scraps into crisp etchings of brocade coats and laughing dogs. One of his prints shows a girl blowing soap bubbles; the soap shimmers so precisely you’ll swear you can smell the lye. His work sits in the British Museum’s Beard Print Collection—look for the dog with the ruff that looks ready to bark.
