Venetoulias Loukas

Venetoulias Loukas is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Athens School of Fine Arts.

Born in Athens, Venetoulias Loukas worked mostly in metal and paint during the 1950s. In 1957 he cast “Daughter’s head” in bronze and hammered the repoussé relief “Saint Michael of the Synod,” then set oils on canvas for “Landscape: Galatsi.” The same year produced three very different pieces—each signed and dated—showing a craftsman’s hand at work in mid-century Greece. Tap “Landscape: Galatsi” to see a quiet Athens suburb caught in postwar light.
