Michael McInnerney is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Michael McInnerney spent his days wandering London’s streets with a stack of blank posters, pasting them on walls wherever he pleased. In 1967 he slapped up an untitled one that turned a blank sheet into a field of color and quiet humor—no words, just stripes and shapes that made people double-take. If you like the way that poster sneaks up on you, go hunt for it at the Tate Britain’s archive; it’s filed under “do-not-touch” because too many hands reach for it.
