Lennart Forstén

Lennart Forstén is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Finnish National Gallery.

Lennart Forstén spent his life near the lakes and forests of rural Finland, where he painted the same winding rivers and quiet villages over and over. He didn’t chase fame—just the light on the water at 5 p.m. in October. A single painting like *Niemisjoki Pielaveden pitäjässä* puts you right there: the cold air, the rust-colored reeds, the wooden boat tied to the shore. Tap the canvas to zoom in and you’ll see how he layered pale blues and warm browns to make the water look heavy, like it’s holding its breath.
