Artist

Henry R.A., R.W.S. Moore

Henry R.A., R.W.S. Moore is a British Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Henry Moore painted quiet corners of the British landscape in watercolour during the late 1800s. In 1868 he stood on the quayside at Port Madoc, North Wales, and recorded the long light on slate roofs in “Port Madoc, North Wales: Sunset Effect,” a sheet of paper turned golden by water and pigment. Moore kept the sky simple and the rooftops almost architectural, letting the pinks and ochres do the talking. Tap next to see that same sunset glow in his view of the harbour.
