Natalia Gadonschi

Natalia Gadonschi is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Romanian History.

Natalia Gadonschi didn’t just paint—she threw parties on canvas. In 1972 she wrapped Nicolae Ceaușescu in revolutionary glow, stuffing his portrait with Horea, Cloșca, and all the heroes of 1907 like a birthday cake. Four years later she literally gifted the thing to him for his birthday. She knew how to turn politics into confetti and still keep the colors bright enough to hurt your eyes. Slide into “Nicolae Ceaușescu și scene din istoria poporului” and watch a man made of applause get framed by the very people he rewrote.
