Artist

Husain Ali

Husain Ali is a Mughal Painting artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This guy painted like he was in a hurry. One hand sketching gods, the other stirring tea. He hid tiny jokes in big scenes—monkeys wearing crowns, kings wearing monkey faces. Look closer at *Bhisma* from 1598 and you’ll spot the way he tilted every face, like they’re all leaning in to share a secret. Skip the crowds at the Met and go straight to folio 18 in the Smithsonian’s digitized Akbarnama scans; zoom in on the speckled horse in the corner—Husain Ali’s real signature.
