Artist
John Jellicoe
John Jellicoe is an Impressionism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
John Jellicoe spent thirty years turning London’s street corners into his living room—every afternoon he’d sit on the same bench outside the Old Bailey, sketchbook in hand, drawing whatever caught his eye. The prints that came out of those hours are small time capsules: a flower seller’s cart in April 1884, a barrister pausing on the courthouse steps in November 1890. If you’ve ever walked London’s pavements and wondered who else was watching, these are your answers. Tap “H Beard Print Collection 26th April 1884” and you’ll see the city breathe.
