Angelos Theodoropoulos kept a small olive press in his Athens apartment, the scent of crushed olives lingering on his clothes. He turned the fruit into stark, black-and-white prints—each line as sharp as a knife. If you’ve walked the narrow streets of Plaka at dusk, you’ve seen his work pasted on shuttered shopfronts; look for the print titled Olives, tacked above the doorway of a bakery on Kidathinaion Street.
