Artist

Horatio Nelson King

Horatio Nelson King is an Impressionism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Horatio Nelson King spent his days running a photography studio in mid-1800s London, turning actors’ faces into souvenirs. He shot stage stars in costume, freezing their poses mid-monologue so fans could paste them on parlors walls. Why he’s in the app: look up “Guy Little Theatrical Photograph” (ca. 1860s) and you’ll see how he turned a fleeting curtain call into a keepsake that outlived the play.
