This 1886 Romanian icon shows Archangels Michael and Gabriel dressed as celestial soldiers and priests. Michael wears a gray knight’s tunic with red cloak, while Gabriel is robed in red and white with a lily. Both hold a mirrored cross that symbolizes divine law over earth, set against a pale dawn-blue sky.
