A.E. Nyberg
A.E. Nyberg is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Helsinki City Museum.
A.E. Nyberg kept a drawer full of quick chalk portraits of strangers—waiters, shopkeepers, passers-by—never asking permission, chalk dust on their fingers when visitors arrived. They drew twice in the same room: once with the sitters’ eyes open, once shut, and the closed-eye sketches always had softer edges, as if the face had melted. The work you can tap next is *Carolina Holmberg, o.s. Wallenius*: a woman caught mid-laugh, the chalk still dusting her cheek; it’s the kind of drawing you want to frame and hang where someone will actually touch the paper.
