Ioan Pop Zugrav

Ioan Pop Zugrav is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Ethnographical Museum of Transylvania.

Ioan Pop Zugrav painted exactly what he saw in his dreams: the Annunciation, but with his neighbor’s cat curled at Mary’s feet and the angel’s robe the same cobalt blue as the church’s front door. He worked in a cramped back room where the light hit just right at noon, balancing icons on a wobbly shelf. His *Buna Vestire* (Annunciation) sticks because the angel’s crin stands taller than the prayer book—painted tiny words on its pages read like a child’s first attempt. Grab it if you like stories in wood and paint.
