David Hardy

David Hardy is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

David Hardy used to wake up in a rented attic in London with a sketchbook full of half-finished scenes of ordinary cottages and cramped back alleys. He’d spend the next twelve hours wandering the same streets, stopping only to sharpen pencils between doorways, chasing the exact light that made a brick wall glow but never the grand vista. Why he never painted anything bigger is anyone’s guess—maybe he liked being the quiet guy who knew where to stand for the best view. Tap “Cottage Interior” and you’ll see why Hardy’s small worlds feel bigger than ours.
