Peter Mazell
Peter Mazell is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Peter Mazell knew Dublin’s narrow streets like the back of his hand. He spent his days sketching shop signs and tavern crowds, then turned those quick sketches into prints that sold for a few pennies on street corners. His 1769 print “Flying Maucauco” captures a flying squirrel mid-leap between two Georgian chimneys—tiny, ordinary, and suddenly thrilling. Look it up; you’ll see a whole world in that one sheet of paper, exactly the kind of everyday wonder he built his life around.
