Auguste Aristide Fernand Constantin
Auguste Aristide Fernand Constantin is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Art of Romania.
Fernand Constantin spent his afternoons hunched over a printing press in the back of a Iași bookshop, inking peasant portraits while the shopkeeper complained about the smell. He didn’t care—every print of Țărancă, that broad-faced woman carrying a basket, was sold within hours. The woodcut’s jagged lines look rough, but they let the light catch her scarf just right. If you like the raw edges of Romanian folk art, look up Constant’s Țărancă next.
