Giulo Sanuto

Giulo Sanuto is a Renaissance artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

A Venetian printmaker working between 1540 and 1580, Giulio Sanuto carved detailed city views and maps. One of his surviving sheets is the *Untitled* print from around 1570, showing Venetian canals crowded with gondolas, warehouses lining the waterfront, and the domed church of San Marco rising in the background. Sanuto’s lines are crisp, letting you count individual roof tiles and rigging lines on the boats. See how he layered ink to make the marble façade of San Marco catch the light—just tap the print to zoom in.
