Artist

Pseudo Granacci

Pseudo Granacci is an Italian Renaissance artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Gemäldegalerie Berlin.

Pseudo Granacci made religious paintings in early 1500s Italy. One signed work here shows the Virgin holding the Christ Child in tempera paint, a common choice before oil took over. The figures have soft folds in their robes and gentle faces, typical of Florentine art from around 1510. Tap the Virgin’s blue cloak to see how the paint still glows after five centuries.
