Artist

Ravenhill

Ravenhill is a Romanticism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Ravenhill never left London but spent years sketching the city’s rooftops from a single attic window, turning soot stains and pigeon loitering into a private calendar of the seasons. The prints read like a diary—each January 1st shows the same chimney with a slightly different cloud. You’ll find them in the H Beard Print Collection under the years 1822 and 1825; tap either to step into Ravenhill’s attic and watch the smoke write the day.
