Wilhelm Peter Bayer

Wilhelm Peter Bayer is a Biedermeier artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum in Warsaw.

Wilhelm Peter Bayer never left his hometown, but he kept a tiny studio above the bakery where he bought his daily pretzel. Up there, he obsessively sketched the same oak tree on the town square, from root to crown, season after season. Why? Because every leaf looked different in morning light versus evening, and he wanted to know exactly how. His 1861 *Study of a Tree* is still pinned to the wall of the local history museum, where visitors squint at it like they’re decoding a map.
