Constantin Baciu

Constantin Baciu trained his hands on wood before he ever held a chisel, carving spoons in his father’s workshop in Iași. He turned to sculpture later, but the rhythm stayed: every cut had to feel like the last plane of a board. His series *Ilustrații la Sadoveanu* started as book decorations, then grew into freestanding figures that read like three-dimensional footnotes. Look for the way the grain in the linden still tilts, as if the story hasn’t settled yet.
