Nicolae Rădulescu spent his evenings sketching the dockworkers of Galați, cigarette dangling from his mouth as they hauled crates under flickering street lamps. He painted them not as heroic figures, but as tired men with rolled-up sleeves and dirt under their nails, the Danube’s mist blurring the edges of their boots.
