Artist

Edward James Pasquier

Edward James Pasquier is a Barbizon school artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This artist painted quiet, detailed landscapes in watercolour during the early 1800s. In 1832 they captured a river winding through rolling hills in Landscape with River and Mountains, showing soft light and careful brushwork. While we don’t know their nationality or lifespan, the work belongs to the same careful, observational tradition as other early watercolourists. Want to see how light played on water?
