Gheorghe Spiridon

Born in Romania, Gheorghe Spiridon made both paintings and textiles in the mid-20th century. His 1950 oil painting La treieriș shows a rural threshing scene, while his 1954 textile Construcții în București captures the bones of Sala Palatului under construction. These works belong to the Social Realist tradition that framed work and industry as national progress.
