Panait Stefanov

Panait Stefanov is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Romanian History.

This painter made official scenes of power in 1980s Romania. One of their prints shows Nicolae Ceaușescu at the ribbon-cutting for the Danube–Black Sea Canal, with the waterway stretching left and right. The work was ordered by the Constanța local party committee in 1984. Look for “Inaugurarea Canalului Dunăre Marea Neagră” to spot the uniforms, flags, and water in one frame. Next, tap the print itself to zoom in on Ceaușescu’s raised hand.
