Artist
Ince
Ince is a Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Edward Ince spent his life painting the London he saw from his studio window—chimney pots, gas lamps, the way light pooled in a puddle between cobblestones. He used watercolor like a diary, recording streets that no longer exist, back alleys that smelled of coal smoke and bread ovens. Look up *Street Scene* (1832) and you’ll see his trick: thin washes of color that feel quick and alive, like he painted the whole thing in one damp afternoon. Gallery Tiles keeps Ince around so you can step into his London for a minute, before the traffic noise comes back.
