Sándor Kun printed the Hadadi Bridge so often that locals called it “Kun’s bridge” before the metal even went up. The printed block was his real medium—he carved his own maps of Transylvania’s towns, then inked them onto paper like a cartographer moonlighting as a printer. Seek out the 1720s print of Wesselenyi Ferencz: it’s a face half shadow, half streetlight, all woodcut.
