G.V.Mihăilă is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Romanian History.
G.V. Mihăilă spent the 1970s painting cheerful propaganda gifts for Romania’s first lady—official portraits of Elena Ceaușescu surrounded by smiling children and spring flowers. In 1979 he tucked two of these oil paintings into gift boxes for her birthday, each signed with a tiny “G.V. Mihăilă 1979” in the corner. You’ll spot his brushwork if you look up Elena Ceaușescu între copii, where the red scarves of the “Little Falcons of the Homeland” pop against fresh green trees.
