Jean-Frédéric Bosset de Luze

Jean-Frédéric Bosset de Luze is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Fundação Estudar collection.

Jean-Frédéric Bosset de Luze was a Swiss engineer who spent years mapping Brazil’s coffee plantations in crisp pencil-and-paper views. He showed the fazendas not as grand estates but as grids of trees, drying patios, and workers’ paths. His graphite drawing “Pombal = (Colombier) Plantation de café d’une colonie neuchâteloise au Brésil” labels every detail so you can count the coffee trees or trace the slave quarters. Look it up and zoom in—each line is an owner’s ledger turned into art.
