Artist

Adriaen van der Salm

Adriaen van der Salm is a Baroque artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Adriaen van der Salm painted ships and sea battles in oil during the late 1600s and early 1700s. His brush shows Dutch warships cutting through wind and waves, rigging sharp against stormy clouds. Two pieces here capture that moment: Yachts Sailing in a Breeze and Naval Engagement. Tap either canvas to stand right on the deck, sails straining and spray flying.
