T. W. Shaw
T. W. Shaw is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
T. W. Shaw carved their name into early 19th-century religious prints. In Christ Appearing to St. Peter, a radiant figure breaks through darkness to grasp a kneeling saint’s shoulder—a single beam of light slashing across the page. Shaw’s prints were widely sold in London print-shops around 1815, often bound with devotional texts. Slide over to the sheet’s verso to see the original publisher’s stamp still legible in the margin.
