Daniel Baudesson and Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki worked in the 1700s, making small luxury objects like gold snuffboxes with enamel and diamonds. One snuffbox shows Frederick the Great, the King of Prussia, in 1745–55. A second is a plain but finely made box from 1755–60. These pieces belong to the rococo era, when rich decoration and fine craft were prized. To see more rococo craftsmanship, tap the box with Frederick the Great’s portrait.
